Officials have said that such cards are not valid and only cards issued by UIDAI will be considered valid. UIDAI said in a tweet, "#AadhaarEssentials.

According to UIDAI, Aadhaar cards obtained from the open market are not secure and hence cardholders should obtain documents from UIDAI.
